About the course
Wirrina Cove Golf Course is part of the New Terry Wirrina Cove resort (BreakFree Wirrina Cove) at 172 Paradise Drive, Wirrina Cove, on the Fleurieu Peninsula. The 18-hole course looks over the local marina and Gulf St Vincent, and kangaroos and birdlife are common on the fairways. It is maintained for year-round play.
The layout uses bunkers, creeks, lakes and trees, and the prevailing wind shapes several holes. The club's hole guide notes:
- 2nd: an uphill par 4 of about 374 metres to a two-tiered green.
- 5th: a long uphill dogleg right, with water on the right and a creek on the left.
- 12th: a 299-metre par 4 rated the easiest on the course, with a green enlarged during a reconstruction.
- 15th: a par 3 with a water carry of more than 100 metres.
- 17th: a par 3 of over 180 metres that usually plays into the wind.
The course is open to the public, and tee times can be booked online or through the golf shop on 08 8598 2415 (open 7.30am to 4pm). Green fees from 1 August 2026 are $50 for 18 holes and $35 for nine Monday to Friday, and $60 and $40 on weekends and public holidays; students and juniors pay $30 and $20. Carts cost $50 for 18 holes and $35 for nine, hire clubs $25 and pull buggies $5. Stay-and-play packages are available with the resort, and club competitions are open to members and the public.
The golf shop stocks essentials and apparel, and there is a chipping and putting green, practice nets, lockers and change rooms. The resort also has a mini golf course ($8). The cafe and bar serve breakfast from 8am to 10am and lunch from 12pm to 2pm Wednesday to Sunday, with dinner from 6pm to 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
