About the course

The Links Lady Bay is at 73 St Andrews Boulevard, Normanville, beside Lady Bay on the Fleurieu Peninsula, about an hour's drive from Adelaide. The land was a sheep and cattle farm for the Crawford and Clark families until 1998, when Mike Hill turned it into a sand-based links course. The hotel, clubhouse and restaurant followed in 2004, and the course is now part of Lady Bay Resort.

The course was designed by Jack Newton, Graeme Grant and John Spencer in the St Andrews style, with bent greens, Santa Ana couch fairways, dunes and deep bunkers. It is a par 72 of 6,400 metres from the tournament tees, 6,020 metres from the white tees and 5,345 metres from the red tees, and hosts the state mid-amateur and senior amateur championships.

  • 13th: the shortest par 4 at 299 metres, with a blind drive and a double green shared with the 16th.
  • 17th: the signature hole, a 197-metre par 3 with the coastline back in view, often played into the westerly, with deep bunkers hidden on the right.
  • 18th: a 509-metre par 5 with a small, deep bunker in the middle of the fairway that cannot be seen from the tee.

The course is open to the public. From July to November 2026 green fees are $58 for 18 holes and $40 for nine on weekdays, and $75 and $48 on weekends and public holidays; from 1 December 2026 to 5 April 2027 the $75 and $48 rates apply every day. Electric carts are $50 for 18 holes, pull carts $5 and hire clubs $35. Book through the pro shop on 08 8558 0650. Neat dress is required: torn jeans, tracksuit pants, sports shorts, T-shirts, singlets and thongs are not allowed.

The pro shop in the hotel complex looks after a driving range, a chipping green with bunker, a putting green and change rooms, and lessons are given by PGA professionals David Galloway and Sarah Douglass Norris. The restaurant serves lunch daily from 12pm to 3pm and dinner from 5.30pm.
