About the course
Waikerie Golf & Country Club is on Dunlop Road at Sunlands, near Waikerie in South Australia's Riverland.
The 18-hole course is a par 72 of 5,936 metres with bent grass greens. It is long and undulating, with doglegs and grassy mounds adding to the challenge. Local rules ask players to carry a sand bucket, and all the par 3s are call-up holes.
The course is open to the public from Wednesday to Monday, 8.30am to 5pm, and is closed on Tuesdays and Christmas Day; it opens on public holidays and Good Friday. Tee times can be booked through the club's website. Pull buggies cost $5 and motorised buggies are available. Corporate golf days run from Sunday to Friday with no minimum numbers, and the club can supply on-course drinks and run the competition.
Practice nets and chipping and putting greens are available, and a driving range is listed as coming soon. The pro shop stocks equipment, clothing and accessories. The function room seats 150 for dinner or 250 for a cocktail event. On-site accommodation ranges from studio and deluxe suites to four- and six-bedroom villas, several of which open onto the 10th fairway, and golf packages are offered.
