About the course

Edithvale Public Golf Course is a nine-hole public course in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs and the home of the Australasian Golf Club, which runs the course, pro shop and clubrooms.

The layout opens with four par 4s and then turns into a run of short holes. The opening hole is straight, with fairway bunkers, a bunker short left of the green and water down the right, and the 3rd is a long dogleg left with a hazard in front of the tee and another behind the green. Mounds, bunkers and sloping or tiered greens provide most of the challenge, so tee placement and reading the pin position matter more than length.

The course is open to the public, and one green fee covers as many holes as you want to play that day: $27 for adults on weekdays and $32 on weekends and public holidays, with concession and junior rates. Public package options are also available for regular players who do not want to join the club. The pro shop is staffed from 7am to 5.30pm every day and sells golf accessories, snacks and drinks.

Practice facilities include a 150-metre driving range (players pick up their own balls), practice nets, a bunker and chipping area and a practice putting green; use of the range and short-game area costs $10 for the public. The clubrooms have a bar and kitchen and seat 60 for functions.
