About the course

Keysborough Golf Club is a private members' club at 55 Hutton Road, Keysborough, among the sandbelt courses of Melbourne's south-east. The club points to more than 125 years of history.

The championship course has 18 holes and plays to par 73, laid out among lakes, gum trees, bushland and plenty of birdlife. Most greens slope from back to front, and several holes carry different pars for men and women. Holes to note:

  • 1st and 2nd: back-to-back par 5s to open, both reachable in two for long hitters.
  • 3rd: a recently renovated par 3 with bunkers front and back and a penalty area short of the green.
  • 9th: a par 4 played between two fairway bunkers, and one of the hardest holes when a strong westerly blows.
  • 13th: a par 4 where the longest hitters need a 200-metre carry over the lake from the back tee.
  • 15th: the longest of the par 3s.
  • 18th: a 413-metre par 4 for men (a par 5 for women) with out of bounds on the right and trees on the left, finishing at a two-tiered green.

Green fees are not published on the club's website. Rounds are arranged through the pro shop on (03) 9798 1333 or proshop@keysboroughgolf.com.au, and the club runs corporate golf days with tailored packages. On the course and practice areas the dress code is neat golf clothing and shoes, with no denim.

The pro shop is open every day from 7am to 6pm, sells clubs and apparel, hires clubs, motorised carts and buggies, and runs lessons, a women's program and junior pathway programs. There is a fully serviced practice range. The clubhouse has a members' bar with an open fire and a bar snack menu, a dining room seating up to 150, a boardroom overlooking the 18th green and a marquee bar for functions.
