About the course
Rossdale Golf Club is in Aspendale, at the corner of First and Sixth Avenues in Melbourne's Bayside suburbs. It is a private members' club that also offers a limited number of public tee times.
The 18 holes wind through pines, eucalypts and coastal banksias, with natural waterways, doglegs and sand dunes to negotiate, and four par 5s. The prevailing wind shapes several holes on the front nine.
- 1st: a 461-metre par 5 that is close to a double dogleg.
- 3rd: the shortest hole, a 126-metre par 3 to a raised green that usually plays into the wind.
- 4th: a 403-metre par 4, rated the toughest hole on the course.
- 9th: the signature hole, a 182-metre par 3 to one of the original greens, small and ringed by large bunkers.
- 10th: a 238-metre par 4 that long hitters can drive in the right conditions.
Visitors can play nine or 18 holes on any day of the week. Register on the club's booking system first, then book tee times online. In late October 2026 the booking sheet showed $69 for 18 holes and $49 for nine, plus two-player deals of $120 walking or $140 for 18 holes with a cart. The dress code calls for collared shirts, tailored shorts or trousers and soft-spike golf shoes; denim, tracksuits, joggers and hi-vis clothing are not allowed.
The pro shop sells equipment and runs coaching programs, clinics and junior golf from a performance studio. The renovated clubhouse has a members' bar, a dining room and a deck, and hosts bistro theme nights and functions.
