About the course

Elmhurst Golf Club is at 20 Golf Course Road in Elmhurst, a small Pyrenees settlement on the Pyrenees Highway about midway between Avoca and Ararat. The district was first settled in 1840, and Mount Cole State Forest and the Ben Nevis lookout are close by.

The club is affiliated with Ballarat District Golf. Its course has nine holes with sand scrapes in place of grass greens, and no bunkers. There is no practice putting green, chipping green or driving range, and power carts, push buggies and clubs are not available for hire, so bring your own gear.

The clubhouse opens during events. The club's annual tournament is a regular June fixture on the Ballarat District Golf calendar: it ran from 12 to 15 June 2025 and from 11 to 14 June 2026.

Par, green fees and visitor arrangements are not published online. Club mail goes care of the Elmhurst post office.
