About the course
Talbot Golf Club is on Lexton Road outside Talbot, a former gold rush town in the Central Goldfields, and is affiliated with Ballarat District Golf.
The course uses sand scrapes instead of grass greens and has bunkers. The district association's listing also shows a practice green, chipping green and driving range, with power carts, push buggies and clubs for hire. The clubhouse opens during events.
In August 2026 the club's annual tournament doubled as the Ballarat District Golf Sandgreen Championships, with an 18-hole stroke round for men and women on the Saturday. The week also included a ladies three-ball best-ball, a two-person ambrose, a men's four-ball best-ball and a three-person gentsome, with entry fees of $25 to $30 a person. Events lost to a washout were replayed in October 2026.
Entries and enquiries go to talbotgolfclub@outlook.com or (03) 5463 2222. Green fees, competition days and the course's par are not published online.
