About the course

Foster Golf Club is on Reserve Street in Foster, about two hours south-east of Melbourne and 1.8 kilometres off the South Gippsland Highway, a short drive from the Wilsons Promontory coast.

The 18-hole course has flat to undulating fairways and small greens. It is relatively short, playing to par 72 over about 5,680 metres from the men's tees, with five par 3s and five par 5s. The longest hole is the 487-metre par-5 9th, and the longest par 3 the 181-metre 4th.

Visitors and social groups are welcome. Green fees are $40 for 18 holes and $30 for nine, with juniors $15 and $10 and members' guests $35 and $25. Groups of ten or more get a price on application, and accommodation can be bundled in. Motorised carts are $40, club hire $20 and pull buggies $5. Open competitions tee off at 9.30am on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, there is a 9-hole competition on Friday and men's and women's events on Saturday before 1pm, and a 9-hole chicken run can be played any time from Sunday to Friday. Competition entry is $10.

The fully licensed clubhouse has course views and free wifi. The bar opens daily from 9am, and Ram's Kitchen serves lunch from Tuesday to Saturday (12pm to 2pm), dinner from 5.30pm to 8pm on those nights, with steak night on Wednesday, and Sunday lunch from 11am. A courtesy bus runs on Friday and Saturday evenings to Sandy Point, Waratah Bay, Fish Creek, Meeniyan, Toora, Welshpool and around Foster; it must be booked ahead.
