About the course
Korumburra Golf Club is set in the rolling hills of the lower Strzelecki Ranges, about 4 kilometres from the town centre along Warragul Road. The club was first formed in May 1914 with links in Bourke Street Park, lapsed during the First World War and reopened with nine holes on Jumbunna Road in 1924. In 1933 members decided to lease about 90 acres around the town reservoir for an 18-hole course; golf architect Clem Enderby supervised the design, nine holes opened on 6 April 1935, and the full 18 were first played in April 1956.
The course is a short, tight parkland layout of 5,529 metres, playing to par 70 for men, with native trees lining undulating fairways and light bunkering. The greens slope noticeably, so keeping the ball below the hole is the local advice.
- 5th: a 347-metre par 4, which the club suggests is its signature hole, driven into a hill with water beyond on the right and an approach across a gully.
- 10th: a 205-metre par 3 from an elevated tee with views over the town to Wilsons Promontory.
- 12th: a 408-metre par 4 with a penalty area beside the reservoir along most of the right side.
- 14th: a 295-metre par 4 known as "Webb's Horror".
Green fee players are welcome. The club's 2025/26 rates are $40 for 18 holes and $30 for nine, seven days, with juniors $15 and a $20 twilight rate after 4pm from November to March. Carts are $40 for 18 holes and $30 for nine and must be back by 5pm. Non-member times are available on Monday, Friday and Sunday and from about 1pm on competition days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday). Book online or by phone.
A Full Swing simulator can be booked for a warm-up or an indoor round. The licensed members' bar is open to visitors on set days, and the clubhouse seats over 100 for functions.
