About the course

Woorayl Golf Club is laid out at the rear of the Leongatha Recreation Reserve, about a kilometre from the Leongatha town centre. The clubhouse walls carry many pennant flags from the club's long involvement in South Gippsland district pennant.

The course has nine holes with separate tees for the back nine, giving an 18-hole round of 5789 metres to a par of 72 (slope 125 for men from the white tees). It is slightly undulating and lightly bunkered, with some water hazards, moderately tight fairways, raised greens and plenty of native trees. It is described as an all-weather course that plays well through the year.

  • 1st: a 339-metre par 4 to open, played as the 335-metre 10th on the second loop.
  • 4th: the only par 5, 479 metres with a dogleg to the right.
  • 8th: a 165-metre par 3, shortened to 145 metres as the 17th.
  • 9th: a 380-metre par 4 doglegging left, which doubles as the closing 18th.

Visitors are welcome. The green fee is a flat $20 per day, however many holes you play. Men's competitions are held on Thursday and Saturday, and women play on Wednesday and Thursday. The club also hosts district events, including a women's Pink Day in October 2026.

The licensed clubhouse has a dining room and a function room for hire. Phone the clubhouse on (03) 5662 4187 or email wooraylgc@gmail.com.
