About the course

Mooroopna Golf Club is at 2 Fairway Drive, Mooroopna, about 4 kilometres from Shepparton, with the course running alongside the Goulburn River. Native trees line the 18 holes throughout, and they shape most of the play.

Visitors can book tee times online. Social golf is available all day Monday to Friday, from 1pm on Saturdays (sometimes earlier) and all day Sunday, with some restrictions. Green fees are $50 for 18 holes and $33 for nine, and $15 for juniors; members' guests get 20 per cent off except on public holidays. The club's EZ-GO carts have GPS and an esky and cost guests $60 for 18 holes and $40 for nine. Pull buggies and club sets can also be hired. Competitions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays (medley), on Wednesdays, with women in the morning and a nine-hole twilight event from 1pm, and on weekend mornings.

The driving range is more than 300 metres long, with 12 hitting bays; woods can be used in bays 1 to 7 only. Buckets start at $10 for 35 balls for non-members, hire clubs are available, and the range is open seven days, closing at 6pm with last balls sold at 5.30pm. PGA head professional Ben Weatherly and his team give lessons to juniors, members and non-members, and the club runs a MyGolf junior program.

Eagles & Birdies Bistro sits beside the first hole and serves lunch and dinner, closed Mondays. The club also has two grass bowling rinks and runs a courtesy bus on Friday nights around Mooroopna, Shepparton and Kialla from 5pm.
