About the course

Numurkah Golf & Bowls Club is on Tunnock Road, Numurkah, in the Goulburn Valley, about two hours north of Melbourne. The 18-hole course covers 120 acres and winds along Broken Creek, with wetlands next door.

The course plays to par 72 over 5,936 metres for men (rating 72.0) and par 73 over 5,332 metres for women. It is flat North Victorian ground, so it is an easy walk. The couch fairways grow strongly in summer and, though dormant in winter, still give a good lie. The greens are small, so accurate approach shots matter.

Visitors are welcome; call the clubhouse to arrange a game. Green fees are $45 for 18 holes and $25 for nine, and $6 for juniors. Motorised carts are $50 for 18 holes and $30 for nine, push buggies $5 and club hire $15.

The club is set up for golf trips. Its cabins are 50 metres from the clubhouse and a short walk from the town centre. Each has an ensuite, air-conditioning, a fridge and a microwave, and rooms are $130 single or $150 twin share a night. For 2026 the golf package is $130 a person a night on a share basis, covering unlimited golf, an evening meal, continental breakfast and 10 per cent off drinks.

PGA professional Anthony Sanders runs the pro shop, which stocks equipment and clothing and offers club fitting. He gives individual and group lessons ($45 a half-hour) and junior clinics. The Water Wheel Bistro is open seven days for lunch and dinner, and the club also has Tiff Dwarf bowling greens.
