About the course

Omeo Golf Club has served the Omeo district in Victoria's High Country since 1908. Its first course was behind the town's hospital; the current course is on Stanley Drive, beside a trout stream.

The nine-hole course has grass greens and can be played three ways, each with its own rating and scorecard, available at the clubhouse: the regular course, which is the longest; a short course that leaves out the two steeper holes at the back; and a composite course of nine holes on each.

The volunteer-run club welcomes visitors, and its website lists green fees of $20 per day, paid at the clubhouse. Competitions are held on Wednesdays and Sundays. In January the club runs a come-and-try month, with sessions on Wednesday afternoons and Sunday mornings, twilight golf runs from early October to late March, and a night golf event is held on the last Friday before daylight saving starts.

The main events of the year are the club championships over three Sundays in February, the Gap Challenge played at Omeo and Tambo Valley in February, a three-day annual tournament in late March that finishes with a 27-hole men's stableford, and the Caravan and RV Muster, the club's main fundraiser, held over five days around the start of November.
