About the course
South Pines Golf Club is at Lindenow South, just off the Princes Highway about 20 km west of Bairnsdale. The course was built around 1990 by the Guy family on farmland, at first as a practice ground for their son, a left-handed golfer, and it is now run and maintained by club volunteers.
The 18 holes have kikuyu fairways and bent-blend grass greens. Only two holes are par 3s and two are par 5s, so most are par 4s of mixed length. Several tight doglegs, most of them bending left, and small greens guarded by bunkers put a premium on placement.
Green fees are $30 for a full day's play and $10 for juniors under 15. Pay cash into the honesty box or use the Vendi touch-and-go payment screen at the clubhouse. The club has four self-drive carts, booked through the Vendi Golf website.
Medley competitions run on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30am, Saturday with tee times from 7:30am to 11:30am and Sunday from 10am. Visitors with a current Golf ID handicap can enter, subject to the conditions of the day and places available. A PGA professional offers lessons, group sessions, club fitting, repairs and regripping, and runs junior coaching on Sundays. The club held its South Pines Memorial Golf Open on 17 October 2026.
