About the course
Buchan Valley Golf Club plays in the Canni Creek Reserve on Racecourse Road, Buchan South, in East Gippsland. The course sits between the racecourse and the bush, and the walking is easy.
It is a nine-hole sand scrape course with alternate tees, so a full round covers 18 different holes. In November and December the reserve has a display of wildflowers.
The club is one of the sixteen members of Golf East Gippsland, which says all its member clubs welcome visitors. Green fees are $15 for 18 holes and $10 for nine, paid into the honesty box. The clubhouse is open on Wednesdays and Sundays for men's golf and on Thursdays for women's golf, which are the days to find other players on the course. The club also hosts district events: a round of the Golf East Gippsland men's veterans series, a two-person ambrose, was played at Buchan on 12 October 2026.
