About the course
Settlers Run Golf & Country Club is at Botanic Ridge in Melbourne's south-east, near the Mornington Peninsula and about 45 minutes from the CBD, with the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne as a neighbour. The course is part of a residential estate.
Greg Norman designed the 18-hole championship course, drawing on the sandbelt and on Alister MacKenzie's bunkering at Royal Melbourne and Kingston Heath. It runs over undulating ground and natural wetlands, with generous fairways and deep bunkers. Building it involved planting about 10,000 trees along with shrubs, native grasses and aquatic plants. Around 80 per cent of the irrigation water is recycled from a nearby treatment plant and the rest is run-off held in an on-site dam, work that earned an integrated water management award in 2011. Endangered southern brown bandicoots live on the property.
- 16th: the only par 5 on the back nine, with a deep bunker at the front right of the green.
- 17th: a three-wood aimed at the water on the left sets up the best approach.
- 18th: a drive through a chute of gum trees, then a steep uphill second to an undulating green.
Public play is available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, booked through the online public calendar. In late October 2026 the calendar listed $99 for 18 holes and $59 for nine.
Facilities include a golf shop, a teaching academy using Trackman, and coaching for juniors and women. The bar and bistro has a wood-fired pizza oven and a deck looking over the course to the city skyline and the Dandenong Ranges. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday and breakfast on weekends, and the golf shop cafe opens from 7am to 4pm daily. Members also have a 25-metre indoor pool, gym, sauna, spa and tennis courts.
