About the course

Seymour Golf Club is a small country club on the Goulburn Valley Highway on the outskirts of Seymour, about an hour and a quarter from Melbourne. Its original clubhouse was destroyed by fire in 2011, and a neighbouring house was renovated and extended to take its place.

The course is an 18-hole par 72 of 6,010 metres with bent grass greens and Santa Ana couch fairways, fully irrigated with recycled water. Bushland lines several holes, and the grass trees beside the 3rd fairway, which feature on the club logo, are protected.

  • 6th: a 148-metre par 3 to a small green ten metres below the tee.
  • 11th: the longest hole, a 477-metre par 5 to a green that slopes back towards the fairway, with steep banks on three sides.
  • 17th: the shortest hole, a 135-metre par 3 played uphill to a green ringed by a bank.

The course is open every day of the year; the gates open at 6.30am and close at 9pm during daylight saving, and run from 7am to 7pm at other times. Most days see only 10 to 20 players, so green fee players do not need a tee time, though groups of 12 or more can contact the club. The all-day green fee is $25 for adults and $12.50 for juniors, paid at the clubhouse in cash or through the Vendi machine, which adds a $2.50 fee. Carts are booked through Vendi Golf at $39.50 for five hours or $35.50 for three. Men's and women's competitions are on Wednesdays (about 12pm to 3pm) and Saturdays (11am to 4pm). An annual green fee card costs $300.

The clubhouse holds about 60 people and has a bar and accessible toilets. Lessons are available through the club coach.

$25 is an all-day fee; carts $39.50 (5 hrs) via Vendi; no booking needed. Junior all day fee $12.50 ($2.50 surcharge if paying via the Vendi machine).
