About the course

Yea Golf Club plays on Racecourse Road in Yea, among the district's rolling hills and less than an hour's drive from Melbourne's outer suburbs. The club celebrated its centenary in 2023, when member Russ Wealands compiled a booklet on its history, and club newsletters from 1989 to 1993 followed its change from sand scrapes to grass greens.

The 18-hole course is laid out around the Yea racetrack. It measures 5,705 metres and is par 70 for men, and 5,013 metres and par 72 for women. The front nine is hilly in places and the back nine flat; waterways come into play on several holes, and there are no bunkers. The greens and irrigated fairways are prepared by volunteer members.

Visitors and social groups are welcome and the course is open daily. Green fees are $30 for adults and $10 for juniors under 18, and must be paid before play; card facilities are available. The club has two carts, $40 a round for visitors, which should be booked by phone before arriving. Dress is neat casual, and golf spikes are not to be worn in the clubhouse.

Men's and women's competitions are held on Wednesday mornings and Saturdays. Midweek events tee off at 8.30am (women at 9.30am in winter), and on Saturdays players tee off between 8am and 12.30pm. Nearest-the-pin prizes rotate weekly between the 2nd, 11th, 14th and 18th holes.

Bar facilities and showers are open on competition days only, or by prior arrangement.
