About the course
Warburton Golf Club is at 17 Dammans Road, Warburton, in the upper Yarra Valley, less than 90 minutes from Melbourne. The 18-hole course measures 5,408 metres and plays to a par of 69. Mountain slopes frame almost every hole, the fairways are lined with trees and the greens are undulating, and deer and wombats are often seen during a round.
The round ends with the 18th, a 440-metre par 4 driven towards Mt Little Joe, followed by an uphill approach across a creek to a raised green.
Green fee players can book most days, with limited access on the Wednesday and Saturday competition days and during major club events. Visitors with a valid GolfLink number may play in competition rounds. Weekday fees are $45 for 18 holes and $38 for nine, rising to $55 and $45 at weekends and on public holidays, with lower senior and junior rates. A guest cart costs $50 for 18 holes and $35 for nine, and hire clubs are available. Online bookings open 28 days ahead, and earlier bookings can be made by phone on (03) 5966 2306. Midweek stay-and-play deals run with the Alpine Hotel in town.
The club holds Ambrose events on Australia Day, the King's Birthday weekend and the Back to Warby day, as well as monthly medals, a monthly ladies' day with a light lunch, and group lessons, including junior lessons. The bar is open every day, the clubhouse serves dinner on Thursday nights from 5pm all year, and there is a lunch menu on Saturday competition days.
