About the course

Donnybrook Country Club sits just off the South Western Highway, about 1.5 km from the centre of Donnybrook. The club was established in 1951 and today runs golf, bowls, darts and social events from a shared clubhouse, with a 10-rink synthetic bowling green beside it.

The golf course is an 18-hole, par 72 layout of 5,830 metres, with grass greens and grass fairways. Holes are framed by native trees, wildflowers and native grasses, and the fairways are gently undulating with generous landing areas, so the course suits newer players as well as experienced ones.

Visitors can play outside club competition times and are asked to follow the course dress code. Casual green fees are $35 for 18 holes and $25 for nine, and bookings are made by phone. Visitors with a Golf Link number can enter club competitions for a $35 fee. Competition times are generally:

  • Saturday: 18 holes from 12 noon.
  • Tuesday: nine holes from 2pm.
  • Wednesday: from 10am.
  • Thursday: scroungers from 12 noon.

Times can change, so the club suggests checking before you arrive.

The clubhouse bar is where golfers and bowlers gather after a round. It is closed on Mondays, opens from 3.45pm on Tuesdays, 5pm to 9.30pm on Fridays and 11am to 7pm on Saturdays. Once a fortnight the club serves clubhouse-style Friday night dinners; bookings are essential and payment is cash only.
