About the course

Lakelands Country Club was established in 1984, which makes it one of the younger clubs in the Perth area. It sits in semi-rural Gnangara, about 25 to 30 minutes' drive north of the city and close to the Ocean Reef Road exit of the Mitchell Freeway. The course has been improved under architect and multiple tour winner Terry Gale, and the club won the Pro-Am of the Year award in 2016.

The 18-hole championship course plays to par 71 from the men's tees. - 7th: the signature hole, a 132-metre par 3 that calls for an accurate tee shot, with a slope at the front left of the green. - 16th: a long, winding 504-metre par 5, where the corner can be cut with the approach to a wide but shallow green ringed by bunkers. - 18th: a dogleg left that finishes in front of the clubhouse.

Lakelands is a private club for members only. Guest and corporate rates are available on request, so visitors should contact the club before planning a round. The dress code requires golf attire on the course and practice areas: for men, tailored trousers or shorts with a belt and a collared shirt tucked in; for women, tailored pants, golf shorts, skirts or skorts with a collared shirt; and soft-spiked shoes for everyone. Neat, smart casual dress applies in the clubhouse.

The clubhouse has a fully licensed bar with coffee and snacks. The club runs junior programs for ages 5 to 18, and corporate functions are arranged through its events manager.
