About the course

Canberra Public Golf Course is at 46 Jerrabomberra Avenue, Narrabundah, in Canberra's inner south. It is run as a relaxed public course with no country-club formality: its website says collars are not required and everyone is welcome, dogs included. The club has signed up to the Women in Golf Charter, which aims to lift women's participation in the game.

Tee times and carts are booked through the Easy Tee system, and bookings are recommended on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Weekday green fees are $27 for 18 holes and $20 for nine, and weekend and public holiday fees are $40 and $30. On weekdays there are cheaper options: unlimited holes for $15 after 4pm, unlimited holes for $15 for players under 18, and nine holes for $15 for seniors. Children under 12 play free with a paying adult.

Motorised carts cost $40 for 18 holes and $25 for nine, and the fleet is small, so it is worth booking ahead. Pull buggies are $5 and club hire is $20 for 18 holes or $15 for nine.

Food comes from The Club House, with picnic tables looking over the fairways, and the pro shop sells apparel in store and online.
