About the course
The Royal Military College Golf Club is in the heritage grounds of the Royal Military College at Duntroon, in the suburb of Campbell, about five minutes from the airport and the city. Military staff shaped the first nine holes in 1919, and the club was officially opened in October 1962. It keeps a strong link with Defence, and active Defence personnel pay a reduced green fee.
The course is short and flat and set among tall pines. The scorecard runs to 18 holes, par 68 and 5,364 metres from the men's blue tees, and the two nines follow the same sequence of pars; women play it as par 72 over 5,155 metres. The longest holes are the 497-metre par 5 4th and 13th, and the shortest are the 106-metre 5th and the 108-metre 14th.
Membership is open to the public and visitors can play seven days a week, but social rounds must be booked by phoning the clubhouse on (02) 5131 1731. Green fees for 2026-27 are a flat $35 for nine or 18 holes from Tuesday to Sunday, half price at $17.50 on Mondays and $45 on public holidays. Carts are $40 for non-members, push buggies $5, and club hire $15 including a buggy, balls and tees. Competitions run on Tuesday (women), Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, with social play opening once the field is through. On Friday afternoons during daylight saving, a nine-hole Wine Run with a barbecue costs $20 and needs no booking. Dress is neat casual with sleeved, collared shirts; jeans, T-shirts and sports clothing are not allowed, and only soft spikes may be worn.
The clubhouse has a bar seating 72 and an outdoor area with shade and a barbecue, and is available for corporate golf days and private functions.
