About the course

Albury Commercial Golf Club sits on North Street in North Albury, about five minutes from the city centre and roughly 5 km from Albury Airport. The course was formerly the home of the Albury Golf Club and was bought in 2004 by the Commercial Club Albury, a members' club founded in Dean Street in 1902, which now runs it alongside its city clubhouse.

The 18-hole layout plays over gently undulating, tree-lined fairways with well-placed bunkers. From the blue tees it measures 5,755 metres and is par 70 for men, while the women's card is par 72 over 5,131 metres from the red tees. The par 5 opening pair, at 506 and 479 metres from the blue tees, give an early chance to score, and the back nine includes four par 3s. The club singles out the 3rd, a 351-metre par 4, as a feature hole.

Visitors are welcome seven days a week, and a neat dress code applies. The visitor green fee is $44 for 18 holes and $28 for nine, with lower rates for Commercial Club members and guests, reciprocal club visitors and golf motel guests. Motorised carts cost $45 for 18 holes and $30 for nine, and club sets and pull buggies can be hired. Competitions run six days a week:

Monday and Friday: veterans
Tuesday and Thursday: women
Wednesday and Saturday: men, with a mixed field on Saturday

A nine-hole twilight competition runs midweek through daylight saving.

The pro shop opens daily from 7am to 5.30pm and offers PGA coaching, demo clubs and club repairs. The clubhouse has a lounge seating about 140, and the bistro serves lunch and dinner with a balcony over the 18th green. The Albury Commercial Golf Motel is about 100 metres from the clubhouse.
