About the course

Thurgoona Country Club Resort is at Evesham Place, Thurgoona, about ten minutes from the Albury CBD and roughly 30 minutes from the Rutherglen wine region. The course was designed by Peter Thomson and Mike Wolveridge and is home to the NSW Senior Open, which Golf NSW lists at Thurgoona from 30 October to 1 November 2026. Past fields have included Peter Lonard, Peter Senior and Ian Baker-Finch.

The 18-hole course plays to par 72 for men and 74 for women, measuring 6,372 metres from the blue tees, with a slope of 133. Fairways are Santa Ana couch and greens are bent grass, kept in good condition year-round. The longest hole is the 531-metre par 5 7th, and the par 3s range from 149 to 177 metres.

The course is open to the public seven days. Non-member social green fees are $55 for 18 holes and $37 for nine, and visitor motorised carts cost $50 for 18 holes and $35 for nine. Tee times and Play, Stay and Wine packages are arranged through the pro shop and the resort. Renovations are under way, with temporary fencing and a temporary car park entrance, and access to the course and pro shop has changed while work continues.

Facilities include an undercover driving range more than 250 metres long with grass and synthetic hitting areas, a large practice putting green and a short-game area. The clubhouse has a pro shop, bistro, cafe and pizza bar, and the club runs tuition, junior and veterans golf. Resort suites and three-bedroom apartments border the 18th fairway.
