About the course

Yackandandah Golf Club is on Racecourse Road at Yackandandah in Victoria's north east. It is a nine-hole sand scrape course, so the putting surfaces are sand scrapes rather than grass greens, and the club publishes its own sand scrape rules. A second nine is played from different tees, making an 18-hole round of 5,721 metres and par 72 along tree-lined fairways.

Visitors are welcome. Green fees are $15 to play all day and $5 for juniors, current from January 2026. When the clubhouse is unattended, pay by scanning the QR code displayed on the clubhouse deck or by the paper receipt system. Distances to the scrapes are available through the Swing by Swing GPS app.

Men's competitions are on Sundays, teeing off between 10am and 10.30am, with a nine-hole competition on Wednesday afternoons at 5pm during daylight saving and 3pm at other times. Women play on Wednesdays and Fridays, assembling at 8.30am for a 9am start in daylight saving and half an hour later in the rest of the year. The Wednesday evening chook run is open to everyone, starts at 5pm and is followed by a barbecue on the clubhouse deck.

The club calendar includes men's and women's club championships, handicap match play events and two three-ball ambrose days, the Chadfest in early January and Cops and Robbers Day.
