About the course

Jindera Country Golf Club is on Drumwood Road on the north-east edge of Jindera, a small town on the outskirts of Albury, next to the Jindera Wetland, which is known for birdlife and walking tracks. Golf was first played in the town in the mid-1940s on a course around the football ground. After a 30-year gap the club re-formed in 1984 on the old Government Common between Drumwood and Table Top roads, and its new course opened for competition in 1986. The course has been built and maintained by local volunteers.

It is a nine-hole layout with 18 different tees, played twice for an 18-hole round of par 70 for men and 71 for women over 5,668 metres from the blue tees. The original sand greens were replaced with synthetic greens in 2001, and a grant-funded irrigation upgrade added a large water tank, pump and sprinklers.

Visitors and families are welcome and social golf is available seven days. The green fee is $15 a game for nine or 18 holes, and group bookings are welcome. The weekly competitions are:

  • Wednesday: veterans nine holes
  • Thursday: ladies
  • Friday: chook run in daylight saving
  • Saturday: nine-hole medley stableford
  • Sunday: men's and ladies

The clubhouse grew from a volunteer-built shed into a kitchen and clubhouse with toilets and a covered outdoor area, and the club has an electric cart for hire.
