About the course
Bathurst Golf Club plays on Vittoria Street in Bathurst and traces its history to 1894, which the club says makes it the third-oldest golf club in New South Wales. Its pioneers included Doctors J Brooke Moore senior and junior, W Rankin and J McPhillamy, and the club's centenary history, *The History of the Bathurst Golf Club: Our first 100 years* by Frank Farrugia, is available at the clubhouse.
The 18-hole course is tree-lined, with couch fairways, quick grass greens and views across to the Blue Mountains. From the blue tees it is a par 71 of 6,065 metres; from the red tees it plays as a par 72 of 5,239 metres.
- 2nd: a 462-metre par 5.
- 8th: the shortest hole, a 125-metre par 3.
- 9th: a 504-metre par 5 to finish the front nine.
- 15th: the longest hole, a 525-metre par 5.
- 16th: a 191-metre par 3.
Visitors and groups are welcome on weekdays and weekends outside competition times. Social play is available from 10.30am on Monday, 12pm Tuesday, all day Wednesday and Friday, 3pm Thursday, 3.30pm Saturday and 12pm Sunday. The club's green fees page lists $50 for 18 holes and $35 for nine for non-members, and tee times are booked through the online public booking system after registering, or by phoning the club.
Practice facilities include two putting greens, three practice nets and a practice fairway with bunkers and a chipping green. There is a pro shop offering fittings, a lounge looking over the course, and a bistro serving lunch from Tuesday to Saturday and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday. A courtesy bus runs on Thursday to Saturday evenings, and the club also offers accommodation.
