About the course

Batlow Golf Club is a small nine-hole course on Boggamilla Road in Batlow, an apple-growing town on the south-western edge of the Australian Alps. The town is about an hour from Wagga Wagga, about two hours from Albury or Canberra, and about four hours from Sydney.

The nine holes measure roughly 2,800 metres and have white sand greens. Alternate tees allow an 18-hole round of par 70 for men and 72 for women, measuring 5,737 metres from the blue tees and 5,410 metres from the red. Most holes run out and back, and the 8th and 9th cross each other as they loop around the sports ground. The course is more than 800 metres above sea level, so the ball can carry further than usual.

  • 3rd: a 102-metre par 3, the shortest hole.
  • 6th: a 457-metre par 5, the longest.

Social golf can be played seven days a week, with green fees paid into an honesty box when nobody is on site. A current fee is not published online. No clubhouse or pro shop facilities are listed. Batlow holds its apple festival in October and a cider festival in May.
