About the course
Bayview Golf Club is a privately owned club in Mona Vale on Sydney's Northern Beaches, among rolling hills and palm trees between Pittwater Road and Katandra Bushland. Its story begins in 1924, when New Zealand farmers John and Christina Orr bought land known as the Winnererremy Swamp and built six holes, inviting others to play. A small clubhouse followed in 1928, with an honesty tin on an ironbark beside the 1st tee at one shilling a round. More land was bought across Cabbage Tree Road in 1933, Bayview Golf Club Limited was formed in 1948, and members bought the course from the Orrs in 1967. A new $7.2 million clubhouse opened in 2009. The elephant statues beside the 18th green, sculpted in the 1920s as a fountain for the Orrs' house, have been restored as a water feature.
The 18-hole course is par 71 for men and par 74 for women, with tree-lined fairways, five dogleg holes and several water hazards. The greens have been renovated with input from Craig Parry, who also redesigned holes 9, 15 and 16.
- 7th: the signature hole, a 375-metre dogleg par 4 from a blind tee shot on the far side of Cabbage Tree Road.
- 8th: a short par 3 beside a 35-megalitre irrigation dam and wetland bushland.
Visitors are welcome for social play around the competition schedule, booking online as a free public member or through the pro shop. From October 2026, weekday fees are $86 for 18 holes and $68 for 11 holes ($96 and $73 on weekends), with weekday twilight at $55. The club has 36 GPS carts ($60 for 18 holes for non-members) and hire clubs.
Practice areas include two chipping greens, a practice bunker, a putting green, practice nets and set practice areas on the 1st and 17th fairways. The pro shop offers Trackman lessons and fitting in its performance centre. The clubhouse restaurant serves breakfast from 7am and lunch from noon, with dinner on Wednesday and Friday evenings.
