About the course

Beresfield Golf Course is a public course owned by the City of Newcastle, on a 24-hectare site midway between Newcastle and Maitland and a short drive from the M1 Pacific Motorway. It closed on 1 September 2025 when the previous operator's lease ended. During the shutdown the council replaced failed bridges and repaired buildings on the course, and Hunter Water replaced the main sewer line through the site. The course reopened on 14 January 2026 under Clublinks Management, which has signed a 15-year lease. Its plans include a multi-bay driving range, course improvements and padel courts.

The golf course has nine holes, and the site also has a mini golf course, with disc golf available by enquiry. Council material from 2025 described an 18-hole disc golf course, built with council grant funding in 2024, and an 18-hole footgolf course on the site.

The course is open to everyone. Tee times are booked through the course's MiClub page, where golfers first register as a public member before viewing the timesheets. Bookings and questions can also go to the clubhouse on 02 4022 8940.

The clubhouse sells coffee, snacks and cold drinks, and the site has a pro shop, change rooms, a barbecue and picnic area and a large car park. Clublinks runs beginner golf clinics for juniors aged 5 to 12 and teenagers aged 13 to 17, an adult entry clinic, and parent-and-child sessions, none of which need experience or special gear.

Green fees

Public 9-hole rate on the MiClub timesheet, Monday to Thursday; $29 on the weekend day sampled. Booking needs a free public registration on MiClub.
