About the course
Canowindra Golf Club is at 1 Browns Avenue in Canowindra, a historic town in the Belubula Valley between Orange and Cowra in Cabonne Shire. The course sits next to the local racecourse, and the town is about three and a half hours' drive west of Sydney. Canowindra hosts a hot air balloon festival each April, and balloons are often seen over the course and sometimes land on it.
The course has nine holes, played twice from different tee positions for an 18-hole round. Men's par is 70 and women's par is 72. From the blue tees the full round measures 5665 metres, with a scratch rating of 69 and a slope of 125. The 3rd is the longest hole, a par 5 of 523 metres, and the par 3s on the front nine measure 141 and 175 metres.
Visitors are welcome and social golf is available seven days a week. Green fees and competition days are not published online, so contact the club by phone or email before visiting. The clubhouse has a Chinese restaurant, and there is a children's playground beside it.
