About the course

Club Taree's golf course lies on Wingham Road in Taree, about four hours north of Sydney, and Golf NSW lists the club's address under its earlier name, Taree RSL and Golf Club. The club was established in May 1915, and the course now spreads over about 180 acres on both sides of Wingham Road.

There are 21 holes. The championship routing, known locally as the Full Course, is a parkland layout measuring 5,513 metres to a par of 70 for men and 5,013 metres to a par of 72 for women. A shorter clubhouse nine combines the three extra holes with holes 13 to 18 of the full course and is popular with the club's veterans.

Visitors are welcome in the weekly competitions or for a social round. Non-member green fees are $34 for 18 holes and $24 for nine, and the non-member competition fee is $31. Motorised carts cost $39 for 18 holes and $26 for nine. Tee times can be booked online or through the pro shop on 02 6552 1506. Veterans play mainly on Monday mornings with tee-offs from 7.30am, and the Manning Valley Veteran Golfers Week of Golf is held at Taree each October. Men's and women's fixture programs are published on the club site.

The pro shop opens from 7.30am on weekdays and Sundays and 7am on Saturdays, closing at 5pm, and sells equipment and apparel, does club repairs and fitting, and hires carts and buggies. PGA teaching professionals give private lessons and run a junior program during school terms. The clubhouse has a members lounge, a terrace, The Greenwood restaurant and a café.
