About the course

Concord Golf Club sits on Majors Bay Road in Sydney's Inner West, close to Sydney Olympic Park, with entry via Flavelle Street. Its roots lie with the Sydney Golf Club, which first played in 1893 on land owned by Eadith Walker at Concord West. When that club gave up the Concord links in 1899, local members formed Concord Golf Club and played their first match in July of that year. A merger with the original Strathfield club led to the purchase of the Police Paddock, the core of today's course, and Scottish designer Dan Soutar laid out a new course that opened by 1907 and later reworked it after more land was added.

The 18-hole par 71 course has tight, tree-lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers and fast greens, with three dams supplying irrigation water. Ross Watson oversaw a full rebuild of greens, bunkers and fairways from 1996, Mark Parker made changes in 2009, and a Tom Doak redesign was officially opened in November 2018. Concord has hosted the NSW Open several times (Greg Norman won here in 1983, 1986 and 1988), the Australian PGA from 1991 to 1993, the 2001 ANZ Championship and the 2004 Australian Women's Open.

Concord is a private members-only club. Golfers can play as the guest of a member, as a member of a recognised reciprocal club, or as an interstate or international visitor, subject to availability, by lodging a visitor golf enquiry. Corporate golf days are also run with tailored packages. Twenty motorised carts with GPS hole information can be reserved through the golf shop, Titleist hire sets cost $75, and a published dress code applies to guests on the course and in the clubhouse.

Practice facilities include a driving range and short-game area with chipping greens. The Golf Performance and Fitting Centre has a GC Quad simulator, putting lab and undercover range bays, open to non-members who book a lesson. The golf shop handles repairs and custom fitting, and the clubhouse has function rooms opening onto a verandah over the gardens.
