About the course
North Ryde Golf Club has played on its Twin Road site since 1937, when a new club was formed from two nine-hole clubs at Rydalmere (Spurway Ridge) and Eastwood. The land was first leased from a local syndicate; after the Second World War the club bought it for £18,367, and it was incorporated on 19 August 1949 with Stan Sheather as president. The club is privately owned and owns its land.
The course is an 18-hole par 69 laid over undulating natural ground. Fairways are tight and lined with stands of trees, so shots have to be shaped around them, and water hazards and bunkers reward position over length. Every hole has a name, from Tall Timbers at the 1st to One for the Road at the 18th.
Visitors are welcome for social golf. Public tee times run seven days (on most days after the morning competition) and must be booked online. Green fees Monday to Thursday are $60 for 18 holes and $45 for nine; Friday to Sunday and public holidays they are $70 and $50. Seniors (55 and over) pay $55 and $40 Monday to Friday, and twilight is $40 (after 4pm October to March, after 2pm April to September). A two-person electric cart costs $50 and a full set of hire clubs $30. Club competitions run six days a week but are open to golfing members only. Collared shirts or neat T-shirts with tailored shorts or trousers are fine on the course; singlets, board shorts and tracksuits are not.
Facilities include a practice putting green with six holes and warm-up bays that visitors can use before a booked round. The pro shop opens daylight to dusk daily, with Trackman club fitting, repairs and lessons from PGA professionals. Eats on Twin serves lunch and dinner Tuesday to Sunday.
