About the course
Massey Park Golf Club is on the shores of Exile Bay at Concord in Sydney's Inner West, within 20 minutes of the city centre, with views of the city skyline. The course was built on reclaimed swamp. Concord Council agreed in 1950 to build a nine-hole course, designed by Fred Ball with professional Lou Kelly, and it opened on 28 March 1953, after the swamp had been filled, largely with ash from the neighbouring gasworks. The club was formed in 1956 when a clubhouse was built, and the course remains City of Canada Bay Council property.
The course is a par 66 for men and 68 for women and about 4,500 metres long. It is flat and easy to walk, with tree-lined fairways, strategic bunkering, and canals and the bay in play on several holes.
- 1st: rated the hardest hole, a dogleg right over a drain channel that opens to views of Exile Bay.
- 12th: a long par 3 that often plays into the prevailing breeze.
- 18th: a long par 4 finish with bunkers left of the green.
Massey Park is a public course, and social groups can book outside members' competition times. Tee times can be booked online or through the pro shop. The fee table under the club's 2026-27 heading lists adult rounds at $42.50 for 18 holes and $30.50 for nine, seven days a week, with twilight golf at $25. Clean and tidy dress is required (no thongs or singlets), and each player needs their own set of clubs.
The pro shop offers PGA lessons and clinics, club repairs, and club, buggy and motorised cart hire, and a TrackMan simulator room can be booked by the half hour. The clubhouse has a family brasserie seating 200, a members' lounge with 12 beers on tap, and a verandah overlooking the course and city.
