About the course

Coomealla Golf Club is the golf section of the Coomealla Club at Dareton in far south-western NSW, on the Silver City Highway, and its course sits beside the Murray River. The Coomealla Club was formed in 1947 as the Coomealla Memorial Club, set up by the local RSL sub-branch with £5,000 raised through community donations and interest-free loans, although it is not an RSL club. It now has about 10,000 members and eight sporting sections, golf among them.

The 18-hole course is par 72 and adds up to 6,254 metres on the club's hole-by-hole guide, 3,167 metres out and 3,087 metres home. There are four par 5s (the 2nd, 8th, 12th and 13th) and four par 3s.

  • 2nd: a 520-metre par 5, the longest hole on the course.
  • 3rd: a 210-metre par 3, index 3.
  • 14th: a 407-metre par 4 and the index 1 hole.
  • 18th: a 151-metre par 3 to finish.

The fee schedule on the club's website dates from September 2022, so check current green fees and book through the club on (03) 5027 4505, the golf club on (03) 5027 4517 or the pro shop on (03) 5027 4658. The golf shop sells and hires equipment and has a fleet of motorised carts and buggies for hire. Corporate and group golf days can be tailored on request, and stay-and-play packages of two to four nights include accommodation, golf, breakfast and bistro meals.

Off the course there is a clubhouse bar serving drinks and light snacks and a covered barbecue area, and the main Coomealla Club has a bistro and a cafe. The club opens from 10am daily.
