About the course
Corowa Golf Club is on Hume Street, Corowa, on the banks of the Murray River about 45 minutes west of Albury. Play began in July 1903 on a nine-hole sand course where Corowa High School now stands. The club moved closer to the river in 1904, to the Corowa Common in 1928, and secured its present site in 1955. Grass greens followed in 1956, fairway watering in 1966 and a further nine holes in 1980, and the club marked its centenary in 2003. A 35-room motel on the course opened in 1992.
The parkland layout has 27 holes among river red gums and pines, with out of bounds on many holes and generally well-bunkered greens. The East and West combinations each play to par 73, at 6,432 and 6,310 metres from the blue tees. The course information page notes that six holes have been out of play since major flood damage in November 2022.
- 8th: a 526-metre par 5 with the river and out of bounds in play.
- 12th: a 137-metre par 3 with river views and out of bounds left.
- 17th: a 376-metre dogleg left guarded by an old river gum.
Visitors and social golfers are welcome seven days and can enter competitions. Tee times are booked online or through the pro shop. Green fees are $60 for 18 holes and $35 for nine, with half price for reciprocal club members. Carts cost $55 for 18 holes and $36 for nine, pull buggies $5 and club hire $25. The club hosts a large amateur tournament on the first weekend of January.
Facilities include a driving range with chipping and putting greens, a pro shop, a clubhouse bistro and bar overlooking the 18th green, and the Federation Cinema.
