About the course
Black Bull Golf Course is at Silverwoods in Yarrawonga and wraps around the shores of Lake Mulwala across about 400 acres. It was developed by Lotus Living, a family-owned company, and sits beside Silverwoods Resort and The Sebel Yarrawonga.
The championship course was designed in 2010 by Peter Thomson, Ross Perrett and their team and is listed as par 72. It measures about 6,250 metres from the black tees, 5,885 from the blue and 5,140 from the red, and water is in play on many holes. The 4th to 6th form a stretch the club calls the Bull Ring.
- 4th: a 179-metre par 3 over water to a large, sloping green.
- 6th: a 390-metre par 4 rated the hardest hole, with a narrow fairway, bunkers and water on the right, often played into the prevailing wind.
- 8th: a 201-metre par 3 with four deep bunkers around the green.
- 18th: a 478-metre par 5 finishing at the course's largest green, surrounded by water, with views across the lake.
The course is open to the public seven days, 6am to 6pm. Adults pay $75 for 18 holes and $40 for nine midweek, and $85 and $55 at weekends and on public holidays; juniors pay $55 and $30. Carts are $60 for 18 holes and $30 for nine, buggies $5 and $3, and hire clubs $25 and $20. Book online, call (03) 5744 0044 or use the group enquiry form.
The Bull Pen is an undercover driving range with a bar and entertainment area, and there are chipping, bunker and putting areas next to the grass hitting area; range tokens are sold in the pro shop. The pro shop also offers club fitting, and the club runs a golf school and a junior academy. Play-and-stay packages include accommodation at The Sebel Yarrawonga.
