About the course

The Craigieburn Hickory Golf Course belongs to the Peppers Craigieburn resort at 43 Centennial Road, Bowral, in the Southern Highlands. The resort sits on about 36 hectares of gardens and bushland roughly 3 kilometres from Bowral village and about an hour and a half by road from Sydney, and some of its guest rooms look out over the course and gardens.

The resort describes the course as its own private nine-hole layout. It is more than 100 years old and is still played on its original routing, and it is home to the annual Hickory Cup Heritage Golf Tournament. The holes are short but demanding and easy to walk, and the course is pitched at social golfers.

Par, hole lengths and green fees are not published online, and the resort does not say whether non-guests can play, so check with Peppers Craigieburn on (02) 4862 8000 before planning a round.

The resort also offers foot golf, a mix of football and golf that broadly follows golf's rules, as well as tennis and a billiards room. Hickory's Restaurant and Bar overlooks the course, and the resort has guest lounges with open fires, private dining rooms and conference rooms.
