About the course
Dungog & District Golf Club is at 98 Hanleys Creek Road, about five minutes from the centre of Dungog in the Williams River valley and an easy drive from Newcastle and Maitland. A small group of local golfers founded the club as a social meeting place, and it is still volunteer-run, with a part-time greenkeeper and member volunteers looking after the course. In August 2026 volunteers were laying new concrete paths at the first tee and around the clubhouse, along with a slab for two practice nets for members.
The nine-hole course has open fairways in a quiet country setting. Social golfers can play seven days a week from daylight to dusk outside competition times, and no booking is needed except for large groups.
Green fees are paid on site. Adult visitors pay $20 in cash through the honesty chute or $22.20 by card at the Tap N Go terminal near the entrance, which covers a full day's golf; juniors pay $5 cash or $7.20 by card. Motorised carts are hired through Vendi Golf, golfers may bring their own cart, and a few free club sets and pull buggies are available first come, first served. Golfers with a current Golf Australia handicap are welcome in competitions:
- Monday: women's competition from about 8am, nine and 18 holes ($20 for non-members).
- Wednesday: nine-hole twilight from 4.30pm during daylight saving ($20).
- Thursday: veterans from 7.30am ($25).
- Saturday: members' competition from 7.30am ($30).
The clubhouse opens for refreshments on competition days, including 9.30am to 1.30pm on Saturday, and the verandah overlooking the course can be used at any time, with toilets beside the 6th green. A vending machine at the entrance sells drinks, snacks and golf balls, and the function room seats 100.

Visitor all-day golf $22.20 by card at the Tap N Go terminal, or $20 cash in the honesty chute. Visitor competition fee $30 on Saturday. Carts via Vendi Golf. No bookings needed except for large groups. Junior non-members $5 cash (honesty chute) or $7.20 by card, all-day golf.
