About the course

Gordon Golf Course is a public course in the upper North Shore suburb of Gordon, run by Ku-ring-gai Council, and one of two public courses in the council area alongside North Turramurra. Gordon Golf Club is the members' club based at the course, and the clubhouse hosts a restaurant, bar and function rooms.

The course is a short 18-hole layout of 4600 metres and par 65 on the club scorecard, with nine par 3s and only two par 5s, the 457-metre 5th and the 448-metre 18th. The 7th, a 400-metre par 4, is rated the hardest hole, while the 15th (112 metres) and 10th (115 metres) are the shortest of the par 3s. The short round here is 10 holes rather than nine.

The course and pro shop are open from sunrise to sunset every day except Christmas Day. Social play runs seven days a week around the competition schedule (women's day on Tuesday, open mixed days on Wednesday and Thursday, members on Saturday and a mixed field on Sunday), so it pays to check tee times first. Bookings can be made by phone with the pro shop or online after registering as a public player, and online bookings must be paid at the time of booking. The council's fee schedule lists weekday rates of $40 for 18 holes and $31 for 10, $50.50 and $35 on weekends and public holidays, and twilight golf after 2pm for $25. Carts have to be booked by phone in advance, and drivers must be over 21.

The pro shop stocks equipment and apparel, the club professional runs clinics and private tuition, and the council runs junior clinics after school and in the school holidays. Hire clubs and electric and pull buggies are available. The restaurant and bar are reached by a ramp from the car park.
