About the course
Grafton Golf Club is at 425 Bent Street, South Grafton, with its clubhouse on top of the South Grafton hill looking over the course. The 18 holes play through natural bushland with plenty of wildlife, and the terrace takes in the 1st, 9th and 18th greens and the gum trees along the fairways.
The course is a par 72 with undulating, fairly tight fairways, couch greens and limited water. Blue and red tees are in use, and the club has recently built new holes: the 10th is its newest par 3 and the 14th and 15th are new par 4s.
- 1st: a 135-metre par 3 played downhill from an elevated tee in front of the clubhouse verandah, to a sloping green with three bunkers.
- 9th: a 472-metre par 5 that starts beside the club's jacaranda tree and finishes uphill.
- 16th: a 375-metre par 4 and index 1, a sharp dogleg right with a large water hazard within driving range.
- 17th: a 162-metre par 3 played from a narrow chute over a ravine to a raised green.
The course is open seven days and visitors and the public are welcome. Visitor green fees are $45 for 18 holes and $30 for nine, or $25 after 1pm, and visiting social golf clubs pay $30 and $20. Carts are $40 to $45 for 18 holes and $30 for nine, pull buggies $3 and club hire $25, and a two-person special of 18 holes with a cart is $120. Tee times can be booked online. The club's Jacaranda tournament is a fixture on its calendar.
The pro shop opens from 7am to 5pm daily and is run by PGA professional Mark Harvison, who offers lessons, repairs and hire clubs, buggies and carts. The clubhouse opens 9am to 6pm daily, and its bar and bistro, open to the public, has a function room and an alfresco terrace.

After 1pm $25; cart $40 (18) / $30 (9); no weekday/weekend split. Junior non-member under 18 $5.
