About the course

Harden Country Club began at a meeting in the Harden Mechanics Institute on 22 May 1931, when 25 locals formed the Harden District Golf Club during the Depression. The first clubhouse was little more than a bench nailed to a tree; a weatherboard clubhouse followed in September 1935. Today the club sits on East Street in Harden, about an hour and a half from Canberra, and combines golf with dining, functions, tennis and on-site accommodation.

The 18-hole course measures 5615 metres from the white tees and 5101 metres from the red. It caters for social players and competition golfers, and the club runs a full calendar of events, including the Australian Two Man Ambrose, a two-day tournament that draws players from across the region. Saturday is the main competition day.

Visitors pay $35 for 18 holes and $25 for nine. Carts cost $40 for 18 holes and $25 for nine and can be booked through the club office. Tee times can be booked online through GolfNow, and golf enquiries go to the club by phone or email.

The clubhouse has a bistro serving lunch and dinner, the Tee'd Off Café, a function room for weddings and events, and tennis courts for members and visitors. Accommodation rooms on site make the club a base for a golf weekend, and the club is open seven days a week.
