About the course
Lane Cove Golf Club plays on a council-owned nine-hole course set in bushland beside Gore Creek, about 8 kilometres from the Sydney CBD. The club was formed in the late 1950s, when its founding members built the clubhouse and the course, which opened for play in 1964. Lane Cove Council has since built the Galuwa Recreation Centre at 180 River Road beside the course, with indoor courts, tennis and pickleball, and the centre opened on 1 January 2026. It is leased to and run by Sydney Sports Management Group.
The course stayed open through about two and a half years of construction on a modified, shortened routing. The club currently plays a temporary par 60 layout while areas affected by the works are rehabilitated. Golf NSW's scorecard for the full layout lists par 32 for each nine, or par 64 for 18 holes. Council reported restoration of the course under way in late 2025, along with a practice putting green and upgrades to the first tee.
The course is open to the public every day from 5:30am to sundown, and social tee times are available seven days a week. Green fees are $28.50 for nine holes on weekdays and $32 on weekends, with a weekday concession rate of $21. Clubs can be hired for $35, a pull buggy for $15 and a cart for $70. Tee times can be booked online or through the pro shop. Members play 18-hole and nine-hole competitions five days a week, and most competitions are mixed.
A new pro shop sits beneath the Galuwa centre, at the traditional entry to the course. The centre also has a players' lounge and a bistro and lounge bar overlooking the course.
