About the course
Moore Park Golf sits in the Moore Park and Centennial Parklands precinct, less than ten minutes from the Sydney CBD, with views of the city skyline. When it opened in 1913 it was the first public-access golf course in New South Wales.
The course is part-way through a major change. The NSW Government is turning 20 hectares of the former 18-hole course into a new public park, Moore Park South, alongside a smaller golf course. The full 18 holes closed on 30 June 2026, and since 1 July 2026 golfers have played an interim 10-hole layout using the existing holes 1 to 10. The club said in June that the course would then be reconfigured to an interim 12 holes, with new holes brought into play progressively and the work estimated for completion in October 2026. The final plan is a 12-hole public course designed with a golf architect, a driving range expanded to as many as 90 bays and an 18-hole mini golf course, with works due to finish in 2028.
The retained holes include the 4th, the longest on the course, a par 5 of up to 550 metres that bends right to a green sloping steeply from back to front, and the 5th, an elevated par 3 exposed to the wind with views across the city.
The course is open to everyone, and tee times are booked online. A 12-hole round costs $42 Monday to Thursday and $50 Friday to Sunday, with twilight rounds from 5pm at $27 and $33. Cart hire is $43 and standard club hire $38.
The driving range and clubhouse stay open during the works. The range has 60 all-weather bays with TrackMan in every bay, opens until 11pm and requires bookings. PGA professionals run lessons and programs for adults and juniors, and the Six Palms cafe and bar opens from 6am daily.
