About the course

Mullumbimby Golf Club is on Jubilee Avenue on the edge of Mullumbimby, a short drive from Byron Bay. The club opened on 23 April 1932 on a farm property just over a mile from town. After the Second World War it moved to its present site, where the old Mullumbimby racecourse was turned into a nine-hole course, built up from five holes. An old air force hut served as the clubhouse until a fire in 1954; its replacement opened in 1956 and was extended in 1978.

The course now has 18 holes and plays to par 70 for men and 71 for women, at 5,789 metres from the blue tees. The ground is generally flat and easy to walk, with views of the Koonyum Range to the west and Mt Chincogan to the north. Water hazards and bunkers come into play, and a hooked drive on the 10th or the 15th, known as the Billabong hole, can finish out of bounds in cane fields or cattle paddocks. Forward tees cater for juniors and seniors.

Social golf fits around the competition schedule: all day on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, from 9am on Thursday, and from 1pm on Wednesday and Saturday. The Wednesday and Saturday competitions are open to guests with a handicap. The 2026/27 green fees are $45 for 18 holes and $30 for nine, walking, with a $25 twilight rate after 3pm (2pm in winter), and under-13s play free with a paying adult. Motorised carts cost $45 for 18 holes and $30 for nine, and tee times can be booked online.

The pro shop opens from 7am to 5pm daily and offers lessons, and the upstairs clubhouse bar looks over the 9th and 18th greens.
