About the course

The Springs is at 1080 Peats Ridge Road, Peats Ridge, in the Central Coast hinterland about 20 minutes from Gosford and around an hour from both Sydney and Newcastle. The property combines the golf course with the Sitting Duck Restaurant and a wedding and events venue. Al Howard designed the first 11 holes and Graham Papworth the last seven.

The course is an 18-hole, par 72 layout of 6024 metres for men and 5238 metres for women. It runs through bushland with sloping contours, undulating greens and views across the hinterland. Holes of note include:

  • 1st: a 497-metre par 5 opener, with the green guarded down the right and at the back.
  • 2nd: a 176-metre par 3 to a firm, sloping green.
  • 3rd: a 359-metre par 4 rated the hardest hole, with an uphill approach.

Social players are welcome seven days, with members given priority on weekends. Monday to Thursday green fees are $60 for 18 holes and $35 for nine, rising to $70 and $45 from Friday to Sunday and on public holidays. Pensioners and juniors get discounts. Carts cost $50 for 18 holes. Bookings are taken online or through the pro shop on 02 4373 1522. Collared shirts and enclosed shoes are required, and children under eight are not allowed on the course.

Facilities include a pro shop, a putting green, cart, buggy and limited equipment hire, and coaching from a PGA professional. The locker rooms, bar and restaurant open Friday to Sunday, with lunch served from 11:30am to 3pm.
