About the course

Wellington Golf Club is about 8 kilometres south of Wellington in the Central West, reached from the Mitchell Highway via Caves Road. The course adjoins Wellington Caves and the old phosphate mine, and its web page is hosted by the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club.

The 18-hole course is a par 72 of 5,972 metres from the blue tees and 5,286 metres from the red tees. It is irrigated from tee to green, with gently undulating fairways, gardens and views over the valley. The round opens with a 486-metre par 5 and closes with a 524-metre par 5, and the short holes include the 144-metre 8th and the 156-metre 17th.

Visitors are welcome for a social round seven days a week. Club competitions are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with bookings or a roll-up start, and visitors with a Golf Australia handicap can enter. Members of reciprocal clubs, among them Mudgee, Parkes, Bathurst and Tamworth, play at member rates. Green fees are not published online. Carts and hire clubs are available only when the clubhouse is staffed, so phone ahead if needed; when it is unattended, an honesty box with payment instructions is used. On competition days carts usually need to be booked.

The pro shop handles club and buggy hire, and stay and play packages are offered. Mount Arthur Reserve, with six marked walking trails, is a short drive away.
